Title: Advancements in Point Spread function reconstruction for weak lensing studies
Abstract:
Accurate modeling of the Point Spread Function (PSF) holds paramount importance in the field of weak lensing, where precise galaxy shape measurements relies on the reliability of the PSF model. A critical initial step in acquiring a precise PSF model for galaxies involves the reconstruction of the PSF from observed star images. In this talk, I will present our recent work on PSF reconstructions by using Smooth-PCA method, which can reconstruct smooth PSFs efficiently. And then, I will talk about HybPSF, a hybrid PSF construction method for JWST NIRCam imaging data that combines the WebbPSF software with observed data to produce more accurate and reliable PSF models than WebbPSF.
